You're all set: one last thing

Open the add-in

  1. Open (or restart) Microsoft Excel.
  2. Click Add-ins on the Home tab (older Excel: Insert → My Add-ins) and pick Rewind.

First: let Rewind into Excel

System Settings opens by itself on Privacy & Security → Files & Folders. Click the arrow next to ExcelRewind Companion and turn on Microsoft Excel. That's what adds Rewind to Excel. (Missed it? Click the Rewind icon in the menu bar → "Excel add-in: needs your OK".)

Two one-time permission clicks

macOS double-checks new software. When these appear, they're expected, and here's what to click:

1. "ExcelRewind Companion" wants to control "Microsoft Excel". Click OK. This lets replays highlight the workbook a number came from. It never edits your files.
2. "Allow the ExcelRewind add-in to connect to the Companion?". Click Allow. This pairs the add-in with the Companion on your Mac.

The Companion lives in your menu bar (top-right, near the clock: the Rewind icon; hover it for status) and starts by itself when you log in. If you ever clicked "Don't Allow" by mistake: System Settings → Privacy & Security → Automation → ExcelRewind Companion → turn on Microsoft Excel.
